Opera Prima Pink Moscato NV

Member Review by Gary Brill:

Nose: First scent I pick up is floral, violets, perhaps? Beneath that you can definitely smell some peach/fruit, but it's muted in comparison to the abundant smell of alcohol, which I feel is the most abundant flaw in an otherwise fine bottle. Taste: Very light, but no obvious astringencies that the pungent alcohol aroma would lead you to believe. Sweeter than I expected since the bottle recommends pairing with deserts, but I believe it may be on the sweet side for anything aside from the most savory of desert dishes. Well suited as an aperitif or digestif. I think this could improve if it was ever so slightly dryer. Other: Carbonation is good, possibly a little overcarbonated from the bottle but letting it settle in the glass for a few minutes easily takes care of that. Overall: One of the best Sparking Pink Moscatos I've had in this price range, and a bottle that I would not hesitate to purchase in the future.

Tasting Notes:

This is a bubbly Moscato with fresh apricot and white peach flavors. Sweet in a fruity way, this is an excellent sparkling wine.
