Oniro 2008

External Review by Prestige Wine & Spirits:

Possesses a deep, dark cherry color and aromas of black raspberries intermixed with underbrush and sage. The grapes spent 4 months in neutral French oak barrels. For a true understanding of the union between food and wine, serve with braised beef and grilled vegetables.

Importer Eric Solomon lends a hand in the winemaking of this mostly-Monastrell, very Mediterranean-style red from the southeast of Spain, starting with hand-picked, hand-sorted fruit and overseeing its passage from juice to wine at an innovative gravity-flow winery. Bright cherry color and red berry flavors are accented with a measure of spice from wood, and the subtle leather and meaty qualities that make Monastrell unique.
