What to Expect

While Burgundy is renowned as the home of Pinot Noir, it is also the source for the ubiquitous Chardonnay grape. In these gently rolling hills Chardonnay achieves some of its most profound expressions. Appellations such as Meursault, Montrachet, and Corton Charlemagne proudly take their place among the most sought-after in all the world of wine. With a richness and complexity few wines can match, Chardonnay from Burgundy adds classic hints of flinty and chalky soil with nuances tones of nuts, cinnamon, honey and butter to the rich, sometimes unctuous but rarely heavy, ripe orchard fruits that the grapes are capable of providing. White Burgundy can improve in the bottle for decades and is arguably the most age-worthy dry white wine in the world.

Wine Tasting NotesThis sparkling, golden nugget presented tasters with a symphony of aromas, ranging from fresh fruits and butterscotch to tropical fruits and toasted oak. Flavors of baked peach, ripe pear, overripe lemon and tasted marshmallows. A shot of crisp acidity rose up at the end along with lingers peach apricot flavors and spicy, toasted oak notes.

The abundance of white marl in the soil gives the wines aromas of almonds and hazelnuts along with good structure. This dry white wine is best paired with scallops, salmon, quiche, fish, chicken. A fine village Meursault, this feels round and succulent in the middle with generous weight. The firm finish hints at lemon, with more overt apple, mineral and white flower notes. Harmonious and ready to decant for roast John Dory. Wine & Spirits
