Olivier Guyot Pinot Noir Bourgogne 2008
Member Review by Lucha Vino:
This wine needs to chill out in the cellar for another couple of years! It might be ready to fight for the best young rider jersey in the 2014 Tour de France. On first opening the nose is relatively thin with some minerality and notes of raspberries along with a bit of smoky tart brambles and underbrush. The palate shows tart rhubarb, cranberry and vegetal herbalness with tart dry mineral finish. One day later things have improved, but still not great. The nose shows red berries, light spices, underbrush along with some floral notes. The palate is showing light cranberries with heavy overtones of vegetal tartness including green olives. The finish is still very tart and stemmy.
