Old Hands Sauvignon Blanc 2008
Bodegas La Purísima was founded in 1946 by several farmers who joined forces in order to improve the quality of the Yecla wines. Their determination and desire to produce great wines finally led, in 1975, to their receiving the Denomination Origin title. This was a huge achievement for these farmers who, limited by the border of the municipality, registered the Yecla Denomination of Origin nº27 in line with the prestigious French AOCs; and is indeed the only communal DO in Spain.
Food Pairings for Old Hands Sauvignon Blanc
Elegant and fruity nose typical of Sauvignon Blanc with its citrus and floral aromas. Lively and fresh on the palate, it offers lemon flavours with a hint of peach and a touch of ripe melon on the finish. This Sauvignon Blanc from Yecla, Spain is made from very high-elevation vineyards (over 3000 Ft. above sea level). Harvested by hand, our wine maker developes a Sauvignon Blanc that is lighter in style, but has a good acidic backbone. This unique vineyard shows great promise in Spain and is sure to be a key to their success with international white varietals.
