Our winery is nestled in the Langhe hills, overlooking a sea of vines. Just as in the past, only grapes from family-owned vineyards are used to make Oddero wines. “Poderi e Cantine Oddero” (Oddero Estate and Winery) is a historic name among Barolo producers. Run for generations by men, it is now in the hands of Mariacristina and Mariavittoria, the daughters of Giacomo Oddero, Barolo patriarch and a man whose fame reaches beyond the Langhe. The company dedicates its full attention to the winemaking process, blending ancient wisdom and modern production techniques with patience and tenacity: from the pruning of the vines to the pressing of the grapes, up to the ageing of selected vintages. Oddero vines grow in some of the best and sunniest sites (known as sôri) on the hills in the Barolo and Barbaresco zones and beyond. Read less

Nicely focused on the nose with dark floral notes a little earthy, dark plummy fruit, and a little mineral top note. In the mouth this is very clean, fresh and bright, with a character that is a touch on the simple, easy going side. There’s nice earthy length here and fine purity to the fruit which is tense and shows a nice mineral edge, growing in the mouth on the finish, which shows good length, but overall this lacks a bit of detail. Easy to drink and delicious but a bit simple. 87pts

Finely focused on the nose with old wood toned spice, rose stems and tart dark red fruit aromas. Smooth on entry and very well integrated this has acidity that is a touch low with soft tannins supporting nice cherried fruit with a little cut plum adding complexity on the modest finish. Easy drinking, if a little creamy in texture, this is rather small scaled and the acids do make themselves better known on the refreshing finish. 86pts

A blend of fruit from Castiglione Falleto and La Morra 15-20 day fermentation and maceration 70% is aged in big, neutral wood 1 month in bottle The nose is greeted with Slavonian oak tones joined my meaty notes and red plum skins over a dry soil base. A touch rustic yet with good complexity and depth 2+ Softish acidity creates an opulent and broad mouthfeel that is well balanced but lacks a bit of definition 2 A bit closed still with lightly floral inner mouth perfume and notes of red apple skins and plum skin. 2 Finishes with a touch more acidic support yet still round, subtle notes on the finish reveal excellent potential for improvement in the bottle 2 87pts

Sweet and sour fruits on the nose are uncomplicated yet pure and bright. The classic Barbera acidity keeps this bright and zesty on the palate as well with a clear, slightly bitter black cherry tone and nice accents of tar, earth and violet than add nice length on the finish. 88pts

Tried it. Liked it but didn't love it. Needs to be paired with better food than pizza :) even if it was Punch.
