Food Pairings for Nxnw Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon
We toured Kings Estates winery in October and were introduced to their NxNW Walla Walla Cabernet. This is a great wine for about $30-$35 a bottle. It's a good value for the price, and I recommend it to anyone. I gave the wine to several friends for Xmas, and the response was tremendous.
BackgroundNxNW: North by Northwest, represents wines made from inland grape growing appellations of the Columbia River Basin of Oregon and Washington. King Estate, based in Oregon, has developed strong, creative relationships with growers and winemakers in the Columbia River Appellation and throughout the northwest viticultural region - leading to this wonderful wine. While King Estate will continue to focus on world class Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, NxNW becomes a unique lens for capturing the essence of terroir, the character of the people, and the quality of the wines from this great new emerging winegrowing region.Winemaker's NotesAroma: Blackberry, blue fruits, cocoa, caramel/vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and oak spice.Flavor: Blackberry, currant, cassis, and lingering black pepper spices.
