Numanthia Termes 2003

Member Review by 97mjr:

[Cafe Loup: pork] Concentrated berries fruit, some leather, highly acidic, oaky. Noce finish. Big modern style. Not bad for $18. But otherwise uninspiring and straightforward. Wont buy more.

Its good but you gotta get the more expensive Termes to really knock the wind out of you. The higher level stuff is nicer; but the price sucks.

A "thermonuclear" fruit bomb, the 2003 Termanthia is a selection of the best grapes from the finest parcels that was aged in 100% new French oak for 20 months, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. It is an incredibly rich, dense purple-colored offeri... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A Tempranillo wine from Toro in Spain. 2003 Bodega Numanthia Termes Termanthia 750ml

Powerful and concentrated, this immense red is austere, but remains balanced, hinting at potential. Plum, dark chocolate, mineral and tobacco flavors are rich and deep. Best after 2007. 125 cases imported. -TM Wine Spectator. A Tempranillo wine from Toro in Spain. 2003 Bodega Numanthia Termes Termanthia 750ml

This rich, alluring red is packed with black fruit flavors framed by sweet, toasty oak. Despite its thick texture and full tannins, it remains lively and even graceful. Modern in style, yet the mineral and wild herb notes root it firmly in its terroi... Wine Spectator. A Tempranillo wine from Toro in Spain. 2003 Bodega Numanthia Termes Numanthia 750ml

This comes from the region of Toro in Spain. This is made from the Tinta de Toro grape variety - better known as Tempranillo. Rich in all senses of the word. Not for the faint at heart...
