User Reviews for Nuits St Georges Clos des Porrets Henri Gouges

Winemaker's Notes:

"The Clos des Porrets is a monopole of the Gouges family, and it is excellent in 2005. On the nose the wine is more closed than the village Nuits, but again, remarkably suave, as it offers up a mélange of black cherries, dark berries, a lovely expression of minerality, vinesmoke, dark chocolate and a topnote of violet. On the palate the wine is fullish, deep and intensely flavored, with great purity and focus, tangy acids, and a long, ripely tannic finish. 2014-2040...91+." John Gilman 12/06"A more elegant mix of red, black, violet, earth, spice and game notes blends into extremely rich and full-bodied flavors that are dense, serious, concentrated, palate drenching and complex on the beautifully long finish. I quite like this as it offers buckets of character and excellent aging potential...89-92." Burghound 1/07
