Nugan Estate Shiraz Riverina Visión 2008

External Review by Prestige Wine & Spirits:

Vivid ruby. Dark berries and plum on the nose, with a subtle mineral quality adding lift. Sappy black fruit flavors offer good palate coverage, with dusty tannins contributing grip. Picks up smoky oak spices on the sweet, lingering finish.

Bright cherry-colored shiraz. The plum red raspberry fruit, silky smooth texture and medium body make this a friendly, fresh tasting red.

A knock-out value, the 2002 Shiraz offers loads of blackberry fruit characteristics intertwined with notes of licorice and camphor. Dense and medium to full-bodied, with outstanding purity as well as flavor, it should drink well for 3-4 years.

Lithe in texture, with fine tannins under a bright beam of boysenberry, beet and white pepper flavors, lingering nicely. Drink now.

Ripe and generous, this plump Shiraz offers dark berry, plum and licorice flavors in abundance, finishing ripe and ready. Drink now through 2012.

The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon was fermented in American oak and aged for 12 months in new and used French oak. Purple-colored, it exhibits a nose of cedar, tobacco, cassis and black currants. Medium-bodied and forward in the mouth, the wine is nicely balanced and friendly. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.

Ruby-red. Red- and blackcurrant on the nose, with complicating anise and black tea qualities. Firm red berry fruit flavors are youthfully taut and nicely focused. Finishes clean, juicy and persistent.
