What to Expect

Malbec's origins as a blending grape and the core of the sometimes rustic wines of Cahors are quickly becoming forgotten as the grape becomes solidly associated with Argentina. A heat-loving variety of grape, it has always struggled to ripen in France. While still capable of producing a full-bodied rich wine, the tannins in these were formidable. In warmer climates the tannins are able to ripen fully, yielding rich, velvety wines packed with black spice notes and dark berry fruit.

New Award just in! Grand Gold Medal at the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. AWA Gold Medal. 14.8% abv. The show piece wine from this estate. 100% Malbec. Selected bunches of grapes are harvested by hand then destemmed and individual grapes are then selected for malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged in French oak for 15 months followed by at least 20 months in bottle prior to release. This is a lovely wine with good fruit, balanced by a slight spice, with vanilla flavours from the wood. Structured and smooth with good length and rounded tannins.
