Elegant and intense, delivering cherry, leather, bitter almond and tea flavors on a dense profile. Finishes a bit dry, but shows complexity. Drink now through 2016. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 33,300 cases made. -BS From Giovanni and Ambrogio Folonari, the 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva opens to ripe tones of black currant and prune. It doesn't have the great complexity of the vintage but it does offer an honest experience. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. This wine opens with aromas of black plum, grilled bell peppers, cedar and spice. The dense palate offers black cherry, espresso, chocolate and black pepper alongside firm but fleeting tannins. - K.O.

Winemaker's Notes:

Crisp, ripe, red berry and cherry aromas and flavors and earthy undernotes are shaped by vibrant, fresh acidity and a backbone of firm yet elegant tannins. Pairs very well with meats, poultry and cheeses.
