The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon delivers aromas of fresh herbs, olives, earth notes, violets, and black currant. Ripe with some structure on the palate, it has good volume and concentration and medium length. Give it 2-3 years of additional bottle age and drink it from 2012 to 2022. Novelty Hill and Stillwater Creek Vineyard are owned by Tom Alberg. The vineyard, located on the Royal Slope of the Frenchman Hills (way off the beaten path), was planted in 2000 and has acquired a reputation for the high quality of its fruit. A year ago the winery moved into its new quarters in Woodinville which it shares with Januik Winery. The Novelty Hill wines are made by the talented Mike Januik. This portfolio over-delivers in a very big way.
Bright and generous on a medium-weight frame, currant and blueberry fruit emerging easily against hints of red pepper, with refined tannins, long and inviting. Drink now through 2016.
Good deep red. Oaky redcurrant dominates the nose. Supple, sweet and easygoing, with round, oak-driven red fruit flavors. A very pliant style with modest complexity.
Mike Januik started his own winery in 1999 after a ten year run of making outstanding wines for Chateau Ste. Michelle. The 2002 Novelty Hill Cabernet Sauvignon is no exception, as Januik believes the 2002 vintage is one of the top four vintages of the past 20 years in the Columbia Valley. Inside this bottle you will find a very classy Cab with lush black cherry and blackberry fruit and supple tannins as the result of a little Merlot and Cabernet Franc added to the blend.
A deep, concentrated wine with fresh blackberry, dark cherry and red currant. Expressive and balanced, with dark fruit flavors persisting across a long, generous finish
This cabernet packs plenty of stuffing for a great price. Scents of mocha, black spice and a hint of menthol adorn the dark cassis fruit. Its tannins are fine but firm, laced around a core of blue-black fruit. Decant for steak.
Wine Tasting Notes This dark, full-bodied Cabernet is loaded with cassis, black fruit and spice from the first swirl of the glass, gaining dimension on the palate and persisting across a rich, polished finish.
