Norton Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

The 'Terroir':A mixture of chalky clay which gives densityand roundness to the Maria, and a plot of chalky gravel whichwill provide its elegance and floral part. The 2006 Vintage:Winter and summer rainfalls allowed agood development and balance of the vines. The heat at theend of August and the variety of temperatures on Septemberfavored a slow and continuous ripening, with a good aromaticdevelopment of the Tempranillo.Harvest:: Grapes are from our own vineyard. We harvested onOctober 14th, after thoroughly tasting the grapes. Manualharvest in cases. Selections made on the vine and in the cellar.Vinification:25 days of maceration in stainless steel tanks of100Hl. Extraction with overpumping andpigeage.Malo-lacticfermentation in new French oak barrels. 15 months maturing inbarrels with the lees.Tasting notes:Deep color with blue trim. Floral (violet),black fruit (black cherry, blackberry) in nose. In mouth we findspecies are mixed to the fruit. Its wood is elegant andharmonious (marron glace, caramelized). Concentrated inmouth, dense and long, its silky tannins recall the mineralquality of theterroirfrom the origin and will enable anextended keep.
