($52.50; 16.1% alcohol) Full bright ruby. Very minty, high-toned aromas of blackberry, licorice, violet, eucalyptus and pungent oak spices. Penetrating flavors similar to the aromas; impressively vibrant for a wine at this level of alcohol. Finishes with big, building, palate-coating tannins. In contrast to the Eclipse bottling, I'd hold off on this wine for a couple of years.
