- Deep saturated ruby. Nuanced nose combines crystallized black raspberry, cassis, smoked meat and clove and a light eucalyptus note. Thick, dense, ripe and mouthfilling; pliant but solidly structured. Enticing cassis, spice and mint flavors. Finishes with mouthcoating but thoroughly ripe tannins and excellent persistence. Satisfyingly rich wine. This reminded me of some top California cabs in the way it successfully carries its high (15.3%) alcohol.
