User Reviews for Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough Icon
Add your reviewGrassy and zesty, but not so much acid that you feel like you are having alcoholic limeade. A lovely bit of citrus, a nice choice if your movies have a summer salad or are experimenting with Sushi! This made it into my Top Five Wines to include as Alternative White Blend for VIP Movie Theaters!

Pale green-tinged color. Flinty, leesy nose hints at creamy tropical fruits. Fat and ripe but kept fresh by good acidity. This offers much more palate impact than Nobilorsquo;s basic sauvignon bottling. Finishes round and persistent, with a slight sweetness. Nobilorsquo;s Icon wines represent selections in the winery of the strongest lots.
Nobilorsquo;s 2009 Icon Sauvignon Blanc practically explodes with grass and capsicum aromas plus some hemp, wet straw and touches of yuzu zest and asparagus tips. Medium bodied with a good backbone of high acid, this is well made with a long finish though it relies just a little too much on green/pyrazine characters to warrant a higher score. Drink now while itrsquo;s this fresh.
Back on form after the disappointing 2008, Nobilo's Icon deftly combines hints of honey and stone fruit with a leafy overlay of herbal flavors. It's medium bodied, with a finish that's tinged with tobacco leaf.
A solid effort, but given the resources of the parent company, therersquo;s no reason why this couldnrsquo;t be better. Passion fruit and grapefruit aromas lead off, followed by modest peach and melon flavors that finish sternly citric and somewhat green.
A brilliant burst of lime, grapefruit and green apple rides easily on a racy, acidity-fueled texture, persisting into the long, vibrant finish with hints of wet stone and citrus peel. Drink now.

Winemaker's Notes:
Wine Tasting Notes Lemon color with green hues. A rich bouquet of pineapple with nuances of nettles. Crafted from the best fruit drawn from select vineyard sites, the Icon Sauvignon Blanc is a complex, elegant wine with excellent structure and weight. Displaying the distinct Marlborough combination of ripe tropical and fresh herbal flavors, this wine has a smooth, viscous mouth feel extending into a rich and persistent finish. Pure New Zealand. Pure Nobilo.
