Just returned from a trip to Tuscany, and this wine was widely recommended as the best Vino Nobile. Excellent with and without food. I am not a wine writer, so can't get more specific other than to say it has a nice finish (something I notice can be bad on cheaper Italian reds) and is delicious from the first sip.

The 2005 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is full of energy and vibrancy. This polished, taut wine flows from the glass with attractive dark cherries framed by firm, yet well-integrated tannins on a medium-bodied frame. It should drink beautifully over the next few years. A blend of 80% Sangiovese with the addition of Canaiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it spent 24 months in oak barrels of various sizes. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2017. ** Only 1 in Stock **
