I agree, the oakiness can be overpowering to the beginner chardonnay experience, but it's intricate complexity lets you enjoy this nice selection on many different levels. Overall impressive chardonnay from Far Niente.

Wow - such a complex wine. Tasted alongside the 05 release, this was even better - age? better year?.

Lots of vanilla and spice, apples and pears. Beautiful long finish. Good acidity. A beautiful wine. Would have purchased some if not flying home that day...

I was able to try this at a restaurant and being more of a red lover, was shocked to enjoy this more than the Caymus we were also served. I found this to be a rich, oakey and buttery chardonnay with finesse and it added wonderfully to the meal. I'd liken this to some spectacular burgundies I have been fortunate to taste, ranking it alongside some of the premier cru montrachets.
