($110) Good full ruby. Brooding, medicinal aromas of cassis and mint. Primary and grapey but round, with cassis and licorice flavors along with a light weediness. Fairly dense, even chunky, but could use a bit more sweetness and pliancy. I suspect this rather old-style cabernet will reward cellaring.

The result is a classically structured Cabernet that is soft in texture, rich in flavor, complex and long. The wine displays the typical cassis and blackberry notes along with spicy oak aromas that have become synonymous with the Far Niente house style. Time enhances the flavors and nurtures the bottle bouquet, offering elegance, and earning Far Niente the reputation for creating age worthy wines.
