Niellon Michel Chassagne-Montrachet Les Champgains Premier Cru(1995)

The Wine Messenger
95/100

Fabulous. Distinctive and concentrated, with aromas of dried herbs bursting from the glass. Full-bodied and opulent, it coats the palate. Hints of wet earth, dried flowers and honey make the lingering finish very interesting.

This is much like the Chassagne villages but with greater elegance, intensity and detail though it does have the same the lush, forward, slightly fat fruit and flavors. This is drinking perfectly for my tastes and though the acid structure is there to permit further aging, I worry that the wine may become top heavy if kept for too long.
