User Reviews for Niedermayr Pinot Nero Precios DOC

Winemaker's Notes:

Derived from the Italian word prezioso meaning “precious.” Precios was given its name to pay homage to this cherished varietal. Hand-harvested in early September. Prefermentation involved refrigeration at 10°C for 24 hours in stainless steel tanks. Alcoholic fermentation took place over a span of 14 days in stainless steel at 24°C, the first 7 of which included periodic punch-downs. Half the wine was aged in stainless steel, while the remaining 50% aged in French oak barriques for 12 months. After it was blended and filtered, the wine was aged an additional 12 months in bottle.

Tasting Notes:

Precios expresses aromas of wild berries and ripe cherries with hints of spice. A dry, elegant wine with tart cherry flavors and a long, sustained finish.
