Nickel & Nickel Syrah Dyer United States 2007
Nestled in the hills of south Napa, Dyer Vineyard is planted on a northwesternfacing hillside exhibiting excellent sun exposure. The climate is relatively cooland the fruit is slow to ripen, allowing for a long hang time. The soils are composedof clay loam and the slope lends itself to good drainage. The rootstock and clonalselection at this site are the perfect match for the vineyard and the flavors developwith great intensity. The vines are moderate in size and the crop is limited to givefull ripeness and flavor at harvest.
Established in 1997 by the partners of Far Niente, Nickel & Nickel is based on a philosophy of producing 100 percent varietal, single-vineyard wines that best express the distinct personality of each vineyard. It is from some of the most coveted vineyards in the Napa and Sonoma valleys that the Nickel & Nickel wines are produced.
