Complex aromas of smoke, fig and citrus fold over to the palate. Full-bodied, with fine structure and acidity, along with flavors that end up giving this a delicate feel. The aftertaste is delicious. Winemaker's Notes:
In contrast to the clay-loam soil common to the Carneros District vineyards, on the northern edge of the San Francisco Bay, the Nord family Trio Vineyard, in Yountville, is characterized by an outcropping of gravel mixed with loam. This makes for a crisper and more mineral (sometimes called earthy) flavor to the wine. The fruit component is pure. The finish is long, with notes of lime, pear and brioche.
