Editorial Reviews for Neyers Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Ame
tight nose with black currant jam, oak spice, and soil tones, a touch of dried herb lurking, this is big with lots of dry extract, super fine tannins, good acidity, dense and chewy with dark, mysterious flavors, lots of spicy herbals tones to the currant fruit, a bit waxy and balsamic, mouth filling with a fine core of sweet dark fruit chilling in there somewhere. Dark coffee tones and mocha lead to the chewy rather massive finish. This needs plenty of time but has the stuffing to be a winner 92pts
Wine Advocate Review Rated 91-93 The finest 2005 is the Ame (which means "soul" in French), a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon cuvee fashioned from a parcel of the estate vineyard in Napa's Conn Valley. Perhaps because of that, it possesses more minerality along with licorice, black currant, and cedar wood notes. Dense, full-bodied, rich, and impressively endowed, with good acidity, tannin, and extract, this 600-case offering will be at its best between 2009-2018.
