Next Pinot Noir 2009
Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:
Lightly earthy and slightly sweet smelling with a touch of mint and beefiness adding to the deep core of cherry/raspberry fruit. Lovely depth with nice forest floor notes and finely nuanced herbal hints. Nice and precise on entry with soft red fruits and bright acids keeping everything nice and taut. This is medium bodied and made in a very approachable, easy drinking style with just enough tannin to refresh the palate and add some textural contrast, especially on the finish which offers up lovely dried herb and cocoa tones. A nice wine to pair with simply prepared red meats. 88pts

This has a definite creamy edge to the nose with nice backing notes of herb and spice. There’s a nice fruitiness but it is a bit anonymous. Really flat and a bit loose on entry but the intensity of flavor quickly plasters over those issues. This is a fun drink, full of sweet, slightly candied red cherry fruit with modest spice notes and a nice finish that is all about the fruit. It’s ultimately a bit simple but well made 86pts

Add your reviewBright ripe cherry aromas. Pretty long on the finish with a hint of eucalyptus leaf.
Friendly with blackberries, on the sweet side but pleasingly so. Nice to drink in the summer.
Not as full as 2008. Tasted almost watery but has a nice smooth flavor without any harshness.
Mouth is full of blueberries, cinnamon, and oak. Nose is light and peppery. Fairly acidic, not very tannic.
