What to Expect

The classic Bordeaux blends rely on either Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon for the bulk of the wine with additions of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec helping to add complexity, color, body and structure to the finished wine.

Winemakers Notes

Bordeaux fans will appreciate the casual sophistication and elegant structure of this wine. The wine opens with aromas of blueberries, cranberries and strawberries with touches of cassis. On the palate ripe tannins surround rich black cherries, blackberries and plum flavors with a hint of toasted oak balanced with a nice acidity.

The ripe berry qualities of this wine provide for an exceptional range of food pairing options, such as a mushroom and Swiss cheese hamburger. Also try Claret with grilled pork tenderloin and a cranberry sauce, or bacon pancetta salad.

Reviews

First had this wine with a fine steak at Rathbun's Steak in Atlanta, GA. The steak was good, but the wine was the stand-out of the meal. Paired nicely with the medium rib-eye.

If you appreciate Bordeaux style wines, I would expect you to like this
