This is green fruited and lightly sweet smelling with a lovely, sweetly vegetal, cut grass undercurrent on the nose. A touch of CO2 helps add brightness on the palate and a little prickle on the tongue. This opens rather broadly on the palate with nice tension, but the fruit is a touch matte. Citrus fruits and cut grass notes on the long, bright, very juicy and decisively acidic finish. The finish is actually quite long here and many will appreciate the wine’s subtlety. 87pts

User Reviews for Neil Ellis Sauvignon Blanc Groenekloof Premium Range Neil Ellis-Sudafrika-Stellenbosch-Stellenbosch

Winemaker's Notes:

"Groenekloof is situated near Darling on a series of hills running along the Cape West Coast. Strongly influenced by the interaction of soil, topography and climate, this Sauvignon blanc is lively, complex and reflective of its origin. These bushvines are low-yielding vineyards with no supplementary irrigation. The soil consists of predominantly decomposed granite and clay with good water-retention capacities. Predominant flavours are those of tropical fruit with herbaceous overtones, whilst the overall impression is of elegance and delicacy with a long flavorsome finish." -Winery
