Neal Family Vineyards Petite Syrah Napa Valley 2007
This vintage combines trademark blueberry and spice aromas with berry syrup, dark chocolate, toasty oak sweetness, and ripe tannins. The mouth feel and finish are powerful and long lasting, making it a lovely, bold, food friendly wine. Decanting and aeration will reveal more character and soften the texture. Organically grown. 320 cases produced.
This is a big, beautiful wine that combines power, elegance and finesse. The nose opens with a spicy medley featuring aromas of curry and mustard. The intensely dry palate cleans the stage in advance of a rarified but spicy finish with lots of zing. In the midst of the powerful tannic structure, flavors emerge subtly over time, bringing chocolate, berries, dark fruit and sweet oak to the dance against the intense and textured mouthfeel.
