Neal Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2007
The growing conditions produced dark fruit flavors, very well balanced acids and tannins, and beautifully colored wines. This vintage is packed with intense fruit aromas of cherry, blackberry, cassis and sweet oak. Plus, there is sweetness to the intense fruit and oak flavors and a mouth watering, velvety structure from the tannins. The resulting character makes this a great vintage for enjoying now as well as aging. Barrel aged 22 months in French oak (77% new). 100% organically grown estate Cabernet. Alcohol 14.5%.
Very fruit forward style, but still a well balanced, deep, rich and luscious cabernet. - Tasted at winery 12/30/10
This is a big, dark cabernet with lots of intensity but a bit too simple given the price. Obviously harvested late, as the alc is 14.5%. It has noticeable tannin and a slight sweet impression. There are top end Zins that are just as good for half the cost. A good wine but overpriced.
