Neal Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2006
Complex aromas of dark fruit, spice and balanced oak notes. In addition to the classic Cabernet characters of black cherry, blackberry and cassis, there are also notes of black licorice, star anise, coriander and bay leaf spices. Starting with a ripe, bold mouth-feel, there is a wonderful complexity to this vintage. Ripe fruit, cherry candy and floral characters linger as layers of fruit continue to reveal themselves. There is an earthy, mature tannin texture from the Rutherford Dust and mountain vineyards that contribute to create a bitter-sweet cocoa powder taste and feel.
Deep dark black fruit. Very rich wine and brooding dark tones throughout. Some plum tones. Blackberry and cassis are the dominant flavors. Big and bold yet smooth and rich. Elegant wine.
A lovely 100% cab from Howell Mtn. Rich currant and dark berries on the nose with lovely oak integration and tannin. Smooth, sumptuous palate. Very nice. - Tasted at winery with Mark Neal 4/23/10
Deep core of black fruits/cassis. Wonderful.
