Winemaker's Notes:

Schimmerndes Hellgelb.

Señorío de Otazu has revived an activity that dates back to the 12th century whose heritage it wishes to preserve. Centuries after the Middle Ages, when the first signs of the existence of the Romanesque church of San Esteban are dated, they have created new winemaking spaces to produce wines of exquisite quality from the historical tradition of respect for the environment. Today, the Señorío de Otazu upholds the legacy and heritage of its first inhabitants in the late Middle Ages when, oddly enough, wine was not lacking in any table. It was in fact quite common in the illustrious rooms of king Carlos III of Navarre (1387-1425) —known as ‘the Noble’ for his passion for the winds of peace during a period of history beset by war and for his enthusiasm for art and culture. Today, one can still find several buildings on the grounds that have witnessed the passing of many centuries but, above all, there is the atmosphere framed by mountains, the spirit of men, of all of humanity that looks at the land as a source of life, that sees in its view of nature and history an essential prerequisite for the future. At Señorío de Otazu, history is experienced, art endures, and nature is worshiped. And as a compendium of all of the above, they make cutting edge wines that reflect a faithful idea. That same idea that has helped to preserve a very valuable architectural heritage, today enhanced by a modern winery of exquisite lines which has turned to culture in the form of a delicate collection of contemporary art with the need to share it; the same one that has returned to the land to freely express itself. A dream setting. A natural habitat for the emotions. An idea in our heart. History, art, nature, wine. Past, present and future without an established order. Read less

Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
