External Reviews for Natura Merlot
The red wines begin with the 2008 Natura Merlot, a supple, easy-going effort with no hard edges. Drink it over the next three years. All five Emiliana wines, produced from organically grown grapes, are very good values.
Fleshy, with a slightly jammy edge to the raspberry and blackberry fruit. Finishes with spice and cocoa notes. A crowd-pleasing style. Drink now.
Made from organically grown grapes. Opaque ruby. Expressive, fragrant nose of dark cherry, blackberry, mint, licorice and black pepper. Then plush, broad and subtly spicy, highlighted by smoky-accented flavors of dark berries, cherry and bitter chocolate. A lively but suave style, expanding with air and finishing with fine-grained tannins and zesty persistence.
Dark in color, with aromas of road tar, blackberry and burnt toast. The palate has good life and snap to it, with flavors of black cherry, plum, chocolaty oak and a dash of cough medicine. Solid and scouring on the finish, with vanilla to soften things up. Regular but good value.
