Napa Cellars Zinfandel Napa Valley 2007
The majority of the fruit for this wine is sourced from the warmer regions of Napa Valley, including Calistoga, St.Helena and Pope Valley. Napa Cellars Zinfandel is dark purple and opaque in the glass. The nose reveals intense, ripe berries, candid strawberry preserves and cinnamon spice. The palate follows with juicy, rounded fruit flavours that mingle with layers of warm, supple tannins leading to a long, plush finish.

This one is a bit more reserved than the bold bruiser that was 2006. However, I think I preferred the 2006 just a bit more. This one's more calm and a tad more refined. Still a magnificent blend form Orin Swift. BV tasting 11/14/09 Lee's Discount Liquor
sweeter than I expected, with caramel and strawberry in the mid-palate, almost a little syrupy. wonderful finish. had it with fig/anise bread, which it matched nicely. definitely better with decanting.
Wonderful dessert wine with chocolate. Nice and hefty with lots of plum. Not as good as 04, 05 or 06. Try to get those first.
Amazing cult wine -
Chocolate on the nose with a a slight hint of damp vegetation. light fruit on the front with chocolate coming through on the mid palette and finish with some woodiness and tobacco. Crisp acidity towards the end helps to provide overall balance.
1. 2007 Orin Swift The Prisoner – Napa Valley (15.2%) – Color: perfect (interpret as you will), Nose: ooo, a bit hot, time to decant….(“Smells like a winner! –Alastor), Taste: Ahh, just dances on the tongue…like Pop Rocks, very strong chocolate notes, cloves, cinnamon, subtle, plums, solid lasting finish that reminds me of home. Lamarr: A, strong A (a very good wine, yet could by a wine of similar stature for much less, low 20s. Interested in the ‘04 through ’06 vintages, as I’m told those blow this out of the water) Hector: A, 94 (It was good, not what I expected, so perhaps I’m a bit disappointed, yet is quite delicious)
Took a while to mellow out in the glass. Once it shed its bottle it revealed a deep, intense, chocolate flavor.

Heady with scents of licorice, plums, earth and spice, this wine makes good on all those promises on the palate, and does so gently but firmly, the flavors feeling light but leaving an indelible impression on the tongue. In every way the wine feels natural, effortless, as if itandrsquo;s a simple representation of an exceptional piece of land in an excellent vintage.
Beaucastelandrsquo;s 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape has turned out even better out of bottle than I predicted. An inky/ruby/purple color is followed by a glorious nose of blue and black fruits, truffles, pen ink, licorice, and meat juices as well as glorious levels of acidity and sweet tannin, buttressing the fruitandrsquo;s fabulous freshness and vibrancy. This full-bodied effort still displays considerable tannin, no doubt because of the relatively high Mourvedre content. It should resolve its tannins in 2andndash;4 years, and last for 25 or more.
At first glance, this is not particularly impressive; it’s slightly herbal and rustic, with a raisiny edge to the fruit. But this really improves with air, fleshing out on the midpalate and losing the raisiny notes in favor of plum and savory notes. Give it four or five years in cellar and drink it over the next 15 or so.
Web Only 2009 - Offers both style and structure, with lively aromas of black raspberry, cracked pepper and mocha, with plush and layered flavors of wild berry, fresh sage and licorice. Ripe tannins sneak in on the finish. Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvigno... Wine Spectator. A Proprietary Blend wine from California in USA. 2007 Orin Swift The Prisoner Proprietary Red Wine 750ml
The 2007 blends the lush berry flavors of Zinfandel, the power and concentration of Cabernet Sauvignon, the dark black fruit of Syrah, the intensity and structure of Petite Sirah, the flesh of Charbono, and a hint of Grenache - all combined for a decadent wine with great complexity. 50% Zinfandel 24% Cabernet Sauvignon 14% Syrah 9% Petite Sirah 2% Charbono 1% Grenache We continue to receive an overwhelming amount of inquiries about "The Prisoner". Not just the wine, but the image on the label. The image is inspired by an original etching depicting a prisoner in chains Dave Phinney received as a gift from his mother and father (Orin and Swift).

Ripe tannins sneak in on the finish. Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Charbono and Grenache. Drink now through 2014." (06/09) Yet another beautiful vintage of the prisoner from Orin Swift. This is not a wine to put in your cellar. Big, bright and all about immediate drinking. With vineyards sources such as Duarte, Toffanelli and David Fulton, there is no wonder why this wine is so beautiful and powerful. 50% Zinfandel, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Syrah, 9% Petite Sirah, 2% Charbono and 1% Grenache.
