A touch sweet and toasty on the nose with a nice light licorice top not floating over moderately spicy and slightly leathery black fruit. Balanced and focused on entry with a nice integrated, decidedly medium-bodied mouth feel and layered flavors of toasty oak, leather, licorice, black plum skin, and a touch of green walnut. This turns a touch minty on the back end where the sweetness of wood picks up a bit, leading to a moderately long finish that shows a bit of oaky harshness and more licorice notes. 87pts

Very deep blackberry nose, with black pepper and molasses notes, and a bit of vanilla. Hints of red-pepper spiciness. I really enjoy the nose, it's comforting. The body is moderate-to-heavy, a bit hot in the middle which doesn't complement the bitterness well. Berry fruit on the finish, not bad.

The 2007 Stagecoach is really smooth on the palate with light berries. Very approachable now.

Strong alcohol content. Could have used some decanting. No spicy finish like I prefer in a cab. Got this through the BevMo wine club.

A really great wine for the price. Very well balanced with a smooth finish.

Has a beautiful nose with layers of berries, cocoa powder, with hints of clove and spice. The tannins build a nice core structure with a round mouthfeel. Dark fruit, wild berries and cocoa flavors lead to a finish with well-integrated oak.

Started by Rombauer back in the 80's Napa Cellars is now owned by the Trinchero Family Estate. As a result they are able to source premium Napa fruit from their almost 300 acres of estate vineyards in Napa Valley. That's really what makes this wine stand out and why it's so good. It's not just another Napa Cab but it's a Napa Cab with pedigree, quality and consistency, all at amazing value. With grapes coming from Oak Knoll, St. Helena, Rutherford and other prime sites, this 2009 delivers the character and style to match some of the best wines in region. Aged 15 months in predominately French oak, it shows berries, cocoa powder, hints of clove and spice. The tannins build a nice core structure with a round mouthfeel. Dark fruit, wild berries and cocoa flavors lead to a finish with well-integrated oak. On SALE!!

The San Francisco Chronicle just recommended it saying "Score one for this long-established name, now part of the Trinchero family's stable of properties. It's evidence of how blending from a range of Napa sites can work at a reasonable price, without becoming generic. Full of fun and familiar Napa flavors: a smoky side, with a hint of dried red pepper, brambly fruit and a throat-lozenge glide to the texture." Don't miss it while it's On SALE!!
