Napa Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

VINEYARD INFORMATIONThe grapes for our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon were selected from our estate vineyards from various regions of the Napa Valley. With fruit coming from the Rutherford area of the Napa Valley as well as from Oakville, this wine created was a true expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. WINEMAKINGAfter arrival at the winery the clusters were hand-sorted and sent to the destemmer. The grapes were then lightly pressed in a bladder press and sent to tank for a 14 day fermentation. Due to the intensity of the fruit, the wine was aged in new and one year old American oak to add sweet vanilla notes and enhance the tannin structure. The depth, intensity and structure of the winesuggests that it has the perfect aging potential making it reminiscent of "classic-style" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.WINEMAKER NOTESThe 2005 Napa Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon reveals vibrant aromas of blackberries and plumb that join with nicely integrated oak and vanilla on the palate. This full-bodied Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon cries for beef, lamb and game. Enjoy this "classic style" Napa Cab with a traditional Bisteccadi Fiorentina (pan-seared sirloin with sea salt and lemon). Enjoy.WINE INFORMATIONAlcohol: 15.0%Oak: 33% French Oak, 67% American Oak, 9% New OakT.A.: .60g/100mlpH: 3.65Cases: 6,000Release Date: July 2007

What does Napa stand for? For some, it conjures up images of five-star resorts and world renowned restaurants, but everyone agrees Napa Valley represents the pinnacle of great wines; one of the world's great wine capitals. Napa Cellars embodies the classic Napa Valley style - ripe, rich, balanced and collectible. Most importantly, the wines of Napa Cellars taste of the depth of this great wine region as much as the grapes themselves. In the valley's warm days and cool nights, our vineyards produce seven primary varieties for which Napa Valley has become famous. Try one of our classic wines, and we hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed making them. Read less

Strong alcohol content. Could have used some decanting. No spicy finish like I prefer in a cab. Got this through the BevMo wine club.

Wine Tasting NotesThe Napa Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon reveals vibrant aromas of blueberries and blackberries that join cedar and tobacco. The well structured palate is layered with bold tannins and ripe fruit characteristics finishing with the sweet blackberry.
