What to Expect

California's Napa Valley has been a source of world-class Cabernet Sauvignon for well over a century. Its warm climate and varied terrain allows for many styles of wine. One thread that runs through almost all the Cabernet based wines from Napa is their lush, ripe full-bodied feel and rich flavors of currant and berry. Wines from the valley floor, particularly around Rutherford, are famed for a dusty quality and those coming from the hillsides surrounding the valley, Mt. Veeder, Diamond Mountain and Howell Mountain for example, tend to be a little leaner with more obvious structural elements.

Editorial Reviews

Showing a sense of restraint and balance that is unusual at this price point this offers a fine marriage of Dark cherry and plum fruits with integrated notes of mint and wood spice. Smooth and well integrated with a fine finish this needs an hour or so to really hit it’s stride but once there it pumps out classic Cabernet flavors with a smooth, dark, spicy vibe. 2009-2014 89pts

Rich and balanced - there's a lot of dark fruit and spice (cocoa and cedar), but less overly fruity than most cali cabs. Very nice, with good structure on the finish. A bit of licorice on the finish, but overall a good sophisticated wine for the price

One of the best cabs I have had for the money, i would put it against a $40 Napa cab any day. full bodied, goes great with a hearty steak or anything with a red wine sauce.. winemall.com has sale 6 @ approx $17 each.. anyone else know where to get deals on it?

This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, and its intense ruby color is very inviting. The nose on this Cabernet was very pronounced—dominated by dark plums and vanilla, with a slight hint of anise. As soon as you taste this wine, you’ll feel the high tannins pull at your gums, and when mixed with the spicy, ripe blackberry and black cherry flavors, it’s very enjoyable. Overall, the flavors are very vibrant and balanced.
