Nalle Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley 2007
92 points Wine Enthusiast: A wonderful Zinfandel that perfectly captures the essence of Dry Creek Valley, while keeping alcohol modest and the overall structure elegant. Perfectly dry, the wine shows complex waves of cherries and cola. It's vast in peppery spices, with notes of all kinds of essences from the rocks and soil... a world-class Zinfandel.
Our wines are the greatest... blah, blah, blah, ...'cuz Doug Nalle and Andrew Nalle are genius winemakers... blah, blah, blah, ...and our growers are the smartest, most hard-working in the grape universe. You can drink our wines young, old and in between and they match perfectly with any and all foods. More sober notes follow on our Zinfandel, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Nice Balanced Zinfandel
Went to the Dry Creek area in search of the best Zin in the valley. Visited several renown Zin producers and asked at each of the tasting rooms what "little gem" they could let me in on. Every one of them said to try Nalle. So I did. What a treat! Andrew (the wine maker) was nice enough to open his tasting area and introduce me to his world class wines. Balanced and fruit forward - a true treat for any Zinfandel drinker.

Bright cherry red appearance. Medium-bodied. Moderately extracted. Moderately tannic. Cherries, violets, brown spice. Perfumed floral aromas. Finely balanced, with bright primary fruit flavors coming through on a silky, supple mouthfeel. Drinking rather well now.
An elegant, refined style that's smooth, ripe and spicy, with pretty black cherry and raspberry flavors, picking up tar, anise and cedary oak tones. Drink now through 2002.
Well balanced, with supple cherry and raspberry flavors and light oak shadings that turn elegant. The flavors linger, but it's a shade lighter than in past vintages.
Lovely raspberry aromas and dry, earthy aromatics greet the nose, followed by a moderate dose of oak. This medium-bodied Zin shows good acidity and tannins that are supportive yet unobtrusive. It has succulent, intense strawberry fruit on the palate, and a finish that is a touch compressed at the moment. Lingering earth and light toast notes frame the brambly fruit. This is an exceptionally civilized California Zinfandel.
