- Not commercially available ('Napoleon')This is supposedly the same solera from which madeira was sent to Napoleon in exile on the Atlantic island of St Helena. Dark reddish brown with a pale green rim and marvellously historic nose of chestnuts with spikes of cream, caramel, burnt caramel and masses and masses of acidity. Not especially big but there is lots and lots of nuance and interest. Delicate yet treacly. Quite dry and slightly painful because of the concentration of acidity.
