Bodegas Museum Real is a wine produced in the Cigales region of Spain, just north of Ribero del Duero. The vineyard was stumbled upon by Grupo Baron de Ley in the late 1990s as they were searching for quality growing regions outside of Ribero del Duero. What they found was an astonishing 100+ acres of old vine Tinto del Pais (Tempranillo), ranging between 60 and 100+ years old. These low yield vines produce amazing, balanced and concentrated fruit, helped along by dramatic diurnal temperature differences that even out grape ripening. The result is a powerful, structured wine with great depth and longevity.  Read less

The nose was very interesting with earthy red fruits and vanilla along with hints of spices and herbs. The flavors were more black fruits along with currants, licorice and chocolate. The oakiness and acidity were well balanced. Great finish with cassis.

a highly complex wine with intense cherry flavor and early petroleum aromas. good with steak and a light chocolate dessert. avoid cream dishes.

Evinces a whole spectrum of spicy notes to the nose, the result of its ageing in oak, combined with aromas of jam and ripe fruits. It is subtle and enveloping, with smoky cigar tones which evolve towards notes of very ripe red fruits. Powerful, meaty and voluminous, the ripeness of the fruit has polished the tannins and overall it is velvety, tasty and expressive, with a magnificent mouthfeel and a very long finish.
