A beautiful Muscadet for everyday drinking. More full-bodied in style, it is an excellent dry white wine to sip alongside shellfish or cured salmon dishes.
The Sauvion house, belonging to brothers Yves and Jean-Ernest, is located in the heart of the Nantes vineyard; the Château du Cléray-Sauvion in Eolie. Eolie means land of the wind, referring to the ocean breezes that gently sweep through the vineyards. This Château with its old vaulted cellars, is one of the most ancient properties in the Sèvre et Maine. The estate vineyard is over 90 acres of silica and clay soils; ideal for the Melon grape variety used for Muscadet. Soft tangy and refreshing and a super value, this white wine has for decades been one of the best kept secrets in French wine.
