Murrieta's Well Meritage White Livermore Valley 2011

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon Waxy, with a big semillon nose showing of aromas of raw almond green hazelnut, green pear skin, and earthy base notes. With lots of acid up front, followed by good depth of flavors, this comes across as complex with orchard fruits, earthy accents, and hints of older wood. With a little air it develops a slightly waxy feel, with a slight mushroom character on the backend which leads to a clean bright finish that is quite powerful, long, and rich with tart mineral, peach skin and kiwi fruit flavors. Elegant and yet pretty powerful, this should age fairly well over the medium term, 91pts

Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon; light straw color, muskmelon and grapefruit aromas, grassy apricot and vanilla flavors, tart acidity into a lemony finish.
