Muri Gries Lagrein 2009

External Review by Astor Wines & Spirits:

This is a red wine made by monks in an 11th-century monastery just south of the Bremmer Pass. Lagrein, a variety that yields wines of surprising depth and elegance, is a cool-climate cousin of Syrah that is indigenous to the Alto Adige. Complex and lithe, this wine is great with a variety of foods from salmon to butternut squash ravioli.
