Muri-Gries, built in the late eleventh century as a fortress, remains a working Benedictine monastery. Made in Italy, near the border of Austria the wine has an Alpine mineral quality. Super aromatic and breezy on the palate - makes this wine fun to drink alone but also pairs well with cheese, all starters, and things with herbs. It has won local fame for its high quality, and is now becoming well-known to Italian wine-loving insiders throughout Europe and the US.
