Murfatlar Pinot Noir 2010

Not really a favorite of mine and definitely not the best quality Romanian Pinot Noir. This brand (all vintages I know) is semi-sweet, out-of balance, damp, with unpleasant notes of acetone. Chilling it thoroughly before serving saves the face, bringing out a decent nose of green pepper and some black berries. What you have to do is rush and drink it while cold, because otherwise the oak monster takes over and the aftertaste is muddy. The really nice thing about it is the color - deep ruby with purple edges, hence the neutral rating, but apart from that, there are far better choices for the money.
