From a single 100% grand cru vineyard in the village of Cramant. Actually it is a crandeacute;mant de Cramant, indicating a Champagne with slightly less effervescence and a lighter approach. Unusual, spicy, fennel-infused flavors lead into a silky, vanilla custard core, with hints of sandalwood and noticeable residual sugar. Rough match to food; great aperitif.

This intense bubbly exudes notes of flowers, grapefruit, Golden Delicious apple and mineral, all matched to a vibrant structure. This has energy and length, with a citrus- and mineral-tinged finish. Drink now through 2012.
