This opens with quite a flush of ripe fruit that’s followed by more mineral scents, with an underlay of cactus leaf and cut grass with hints of pithy dried citrus tones. Rather lean on entry, then turning a bit fleshier; this nonetheless is vibrant and sapid with a touch of salinity and nice gentle green spice notes over pineapple and citrus fruit flavors. The finish is clean, long and taut with a fine mineral verve and nice grassy accents to the lemon curdy fruit. 88pts

This may be my favorite SB to date... bright, vibrant notes of green apple, not-yet-ripe pear, and that distinctive essence that reminds me of the fresh and nostalgic smell of a freshly mowed hay field.

Smells like cleaning product and dirt. Taste of bark and raw green leaves not meant to be eaten. It might have been due to the fact that it was not served chilled enough. This was part of a wine tasting showdown. More on the tastings at http://dionyshius.blogspot.com/2012/03/showdown-saturday.html

We had it with Butterkase/Fontina fondue, and it was a perfect mix. The wine had almost a sweaty odor (I know that sounds terrible, it was nice though), and it had a slight fizz to it. It was only slightly tart, not sweet at all, but not overly tannic either. I really enjoyed this wine.

Usually not a fan of white wine but this one is unique and good.

Mike Dobrovich's Sauvignon Blanc is an explosion of Springtime freshness: nettle, freshly squeezed juicy grass, jalapenos, gooseberry, green apples as well of exotic fruit like litchi and guava. Very complex, these aromas and flavors reveal themselves layer after layer. Different to all other Sauvignon Blancs of the New World...but fabulous !!

Flinty and a nice contrast from my usual floral New Zealand SB's

This racy bottling single-handedly put South Africa on the map as a source of world class Sauvignon Blanc. One of the Cape's most heralded and sought-after wines, it garners 90+ scores vintage after vintage. Vivid citrus and tropical fruit aromas give way

With clear, lively green apple hues, this Sauvignon Blanc has a tropical nose packed with guava, ripe and green fig, granadilla, litchi, gooseberry and a hint of green pepper - yet still maintaining a complex character of nettle and freshly cut grass. The mouth-filling ripe fruit is supported by crisp acid, which creates a distinctive palate.

Vivid tropical fruit aromas give way to succulent, mouth-filling flavors of guava, lychee, gooseberry, lime, and fresh cut grass, supported by a bracing jolt of acidity.

An absolutely beautiful, world-class Sauvignon Blanc. It's very crisp with layers of delicious ripe melon and mineral flavors. Serve with a simple fish dish and let this wine shine.

In Nase und Gaumen eine breite Palette von Fruchtaromen. Aromen von grünem Pfeffer und eine leicht grasige Art unterstützen den Fruchtcharakter. Spritzig, rassig, sehr erfrischend.

Winemaker's Notes:

A bright lemon-green colour with a pronounced nose of citrus, lemon zest, green fig and black current leaves all held together by an intriguing floral note. A vivid palate with an engaging concentration of clementine peel, granadilla pulp, Cape Gooseberry and melon. Herbal undertones with a complex, chalky minerality compliments the mouthwatering finish.
