Mulderbosch Cabernet Sauvignon Rose 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

Mulderbosch Rose 2014 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that is cool fermented and bottled early, with no barrel aging, to preserve the wine's freshness. This South African Rose offers fragrant aromas of sweet fruit, citrus and sandalwood on the nose. On the palate, juicy fruit flavors, refreshing acidity and a long, zesty finish. "First released in 1999, Mulderbosch Rosé was one of the very first of its kind from South Africa. At a time when most Rosés where a byproduct of red wine fermentation, Mulderbosch launched a varietal Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé issuing from specially farmed vineyards specifically to produce Rosé fruit. On arrival at the cellar, these early picked, specially selected grapes where vinified in the same manner in which an aromatic white wine would be, with the aim of producing a fresh, aromatic style of Rosé." -Winery Website

A soft, watermelon pink colour with orange tints. Agamut of rose petals, lime zest, wild strawberry and freshly picked raspberries assault the olfactory senses. These red berry aromas follow through on the palate supplemented with nutmeg spice and ground pepper which is balanced by a refreshing acidity, softly textured mouth feel that leave a lingering farewell.
