Muirwood Pinot Noir 2011

Member Review by julieimagery:

For a Pinot Noir this one was rather fruity with a strong cherry spice taste. It's light in color but full of flavor...Also a decently prominent tannin. Tasted at Total Wine.

This Pinot Noir was delightful right out of the bottle. It has depth & complexity, and gentle tannins. The attack is fruit forward, with just a touch of oak at the end. The feel is velvety smooth. I liked this wine very much. Considering the price, it's an outstanding bargain.

Over oaked, but well balanced otherwise. Lush fruit. The oak is the first thing I got. Sitting in the fridge, this held up well and the oak diminished.

Ripe and extracted with floral notes of rose petals plums and earth. Seamless in texture it has a pleasant amount of oak and a surprisingly savory finish for a wine at this price point.

Selected from six distinct lots from Muirwood's Sutter Ranch, this Pinot Noir offers generous berry and cherry flavors. Soft tannins and a silky body lead to a smooth, supple finish.

Flavors of cherry, cola and raspberry; notes of French vanilla and sugar cookie combine to be velvety on the palate; soft tannins give depth and structure.

a.k.a. the Velveteen Pinot, this one's so smooth it pours itself. Ripe and slightly exotic cherry and spice notes taste like California's finest efforts.

Flavors of bright cherry, sweet, ripe, plum and pretty floral hints of lilac will keep you sipping. The tannins are powdered and soft in this medium-bodied steal.
