- "Fairly pronounced new oak aromas frame dark, ripe and spicy small berry fruit aromas that give way to round, sweet and earthy flavors nuanced by notes of truffle and game. There is abundant sap to buffer the dense and firm yet fine tannins and this finishes with a very firm and linear quality with a touch of added lift from the subtle minerality found here. I very much like this as its a combination of power and finesse with plenty of finishing pop though the oak may take some time to fully integrate as its presently quite strong...90-93." - ($150-$210) Bright, deep red. Very ripe aromas of black cherry and exotic flowers; not at all cooked. Dense, sweet and extremely rich; this, too, really mounts on the back half spreads out to saturate the entire palate. The black fruit flavors seem quite young for the vintage. Here's a 2003 that needs time in the bottle.

There is abundant sap to buffer the dense and firm yet fine tannins and this finishes with a very firm, dusty and linear quality with a touch of added lift from the subtle minerality found here.
